Hey guys and gals,

We hope to be with you again this year - indeed, due to a generous offer, we hope to make it a longer stay in Denmark this year. :D

Time is booked in the diary, even though I don't know the exact date yet. We are really looking forward to seeing friends old and new.

Regards,
Les and Nan Austin

WOW! When you tie your head how many "bunchs" do you tie on for this size hook. Its really a beautiful streamer.
I'm just learning to make a muddler and can sure appreciate this one.

Good looking fly!
No offense intended at all but I have to wonder if those white wings are even necessary. It appears as though they are not visible to an underwater view. Nonetheless I plan on fishing them for bluegill here locally.

TKS Martin...like you, i do like to overpower my rod.
My guess is that if the long belly has a belly 40 to 50% longer than a usual WF
it means you will have serious problems loading a rod with 9 meters line off the rod tip.
In softer tip rods that would be good with short casts and presentation will work almost like a double tapper would.
But with harder rod tips, i think it would be a bit difficult to load the rod for a shoot cast. wouldn' it ?!?!

Well that means that i should be open again now then!
I think that more countries should have closed season during the spawning. The swedish arcipelago could win a lot from it.

It's midsummer feast in sweden now and the fishing is running slow due to high temperatures but im going out to do some night fishing next week.

Hi all,

only wants to say "Hallo" to all users of this great international fly fishing board. I love to read all the articles and massages from all over the world and feel good by knowing about this great community of fly fishing enthusiasts. Thats a good way of globalisation!

Warm Regards

Mike

Well, ... extremely difficult to guess the spot you fished, there´s only the sea and the sun... It could have been anywhere. But good pics, though.
The "soup" was pretty muddy when I got there, visibility less than 30 cm... :?

My dear boy, for anyone to start & finish such a fly & get copliments from one of my favorate fly
tyers, Bryant Freeman, & the couple little minor mistakes that were made are so easily fixed.
So, let's shorten the thread back on the eye a little, put another plus the one that is here in this
picture side by side. I know you have talent, show me your next version of the same fly.

[quote:29c3e1afb7="Olle Bulder"]Nice pics to bad you had a blank fishing morning. I've made some pictures too you can find a slideshow at www.coolinfo.speedxs.nl . Is that fishing spot near the place i went?[/quote:29c3e1afb7]

I have an East Branch 7' 3wt 3 piece rod that I use for brook trout in the Shenandoah National Park, a great little brook trout rod. Unfortunately I beleive that East Branch Rod Co. has gone out of business.

Blatt,

I like overlining my own rods a bit (personal taste), but apart from that recommend beginners to do the same because they rarely have a full belly out when blind casting, and because of this only rarely load the rod fully.

Whether to overline in particular when using a longbelly line...? I honestly can't answer you there. Personally I would probably do it, but again, that's how I prefer it.

Many guesses here...When using a long belly fly line, would it be a good idea to overline the rod?
Thanks.

Arrived at 4 a.m., probably too late as the sun was just about to rise. Zero trip, but a lovely morning, though.

...glad you were lucky to hook some fish. There´s many regular Gilleleje visitors trying luck for days without even seeing a single splash!
I´ll check the beach tomorrow, anyone want to join?

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
